In 1988, Terry and Pat Powell left their corporate jobs to serve people living in low income areas. They began building an extensive resource program in downtown Atlanta, mostly notably in the government housing communities of Perry Homes and Bowen Homes. Here, StreetWise offered a broad range of services to help over 600 families living below the poverty level get the professional help and care they needed to rebuild their lives.
At first it was only the founders and now we have 4 paid employees and around 70 volunteers. Most of our volunteers are retired. The only problem we have had is getting them over their intimidation of using a computer. Other than that…no problems.

Everything was used on dry erase boards which was VERY confusing for everyone.
The work scheduler Humanity has changed our scheduling DRASTICALLY and I would ABSOLUTELY recommend it. Their team is very informative of the product. I have not had one bad experience whatsoever and I LOVE the chat option.
We recently lost our volunteer coordinator and this position was added to my daily duties. If I had not done a Google search and found this work scheduler, I don’t know where I would be.

The message wall and upcoming birthdays are really good to; my favorite is the time clock so nothing has to be added by hand anymore.
