ResNet provides internet support to students in the on campus housing at the University of Northern Iowa. ResNet started in the late 90’s and grew into the organization it is now as the world has shifted onto the internet.
We have a helpdesk that can be contacted by phone and do on location appointments in the evenings to service the students. We are primarily customer service orientated. There are eight student employees during the regular school term (August-May). Working to fill shifts in a 8-5 work place using student daily schedules is a big challenge.

Previously ResNet scheduled using a Microsoft Excel template. This was functional, but it was not easy for the scheduler, nor did it provide an accessible interface for the employees.
The work scheduler Humanity for us is all about creating that basic template to guide the hourly schedule for the whole semester. The work scheduler wizard provides a very good first draft and with changes and adjustments to create blocks a schedule can be made for a whole semester in a short time. ResNet has just switched over to this work scheduler this past May. The regular school year schedule will not be up and used until late August in September. This means that our insight is primarily focused on the scheduling aspect (as we have scheduled for August-December).

We have not utilized the service of the Humanity team very much, aside from routine setup and basic questions. For those times when we have asked for assistance, the response been informed and the customer service is easy to find and deal with.
