Metro Crisis Services is a non-profit organization in Denver that operates programs to help people having a mental health of substance abuse crisis. The largest program is Metro Crisis Line, a free, professionally-staffed, 24/7 emergency mental health and substance abuse hotline. It was created to serve the seven-county Denver Metro area, where 2.7 million people make their homes. MCS also created and hosts the MCS Service Directory, a huge online database of the nearly 3,000 programs in the Denver Metro area that are available to provide treatment and support to people in need. A third program of MCS is LiveConnect, which provides fee-based professional after-hours support to the enrolled clients of Colorado psychotherapists and treatment centers.
At this writing Metro Crisis Services employs 26 individuals both full-time and part-time. Metro Crisis Services opened for business in June of 2012. It is the product of a four-year community planning process. The organization’s first employee was Daniel Ward, who remains its CEO. It was Daniel Ward who called Ryan Fyfe and arranged to begin working with the work scheduler Humanity. When we began with the work scheduler our first eight employees were just coming on board. Our principal scheduling challenge is that we operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year. A second challenge is that we have many part-time and as-needed employees, so our scheduling is not static from week-to-week. Because we are a new organization, there has never been another system other than Humanity.

One of our enterprise software systems includes a scheduling module. It is not nearly as robust as Humanity so we have never used it.
We are pleased with the work scheduler Humanity, It does everything we need it to do. And yes, we’d recommend it to others. In fact, we started operating our website in December of 2010 and have been recommending the work scheduler on our website since the beginning. Here’s the link:
I don’t think anyone here has interacted with anyone at Humanity except Ryan Fyfe when we started up with the work scheduler. We haven’t needed to. The software is easy to understand, easy to use, free of bugs and glitches and exactly what we need. The work scheduler has been an enormous time-saver and an effective tool to help us manage our organization’s complex scheduling. It is refreshing to be able to manage our diverse group of employees without basic misunderstandings about the schedule. People know when they are scheduled and show up on time. We can’t afford gaps in our staff scheduling.
Humanity makes it all work. Daniel Ward, CEO – Metro Crisis Services
