Business Overview

We are Diamond Candles, an all natural earth friendly soy candle company with a ring inside worth anywhere from $10 up to $5,000. We are available only online at www.diamondcandles.com and started in business and sold our first candle on Valentine’s Day of 2011. We manufacture by hand our candles here in the US in Durham, NC.

Scheduling Overview

We have grown from 1 employee to 10+ in that time. We had a problem with keeping track of employee hours worked and were tracking things with paper and relying on shift managers to manually report everything regularly. We also needed to be able to hold everyone accountable for timeliness with their shifts as well. So the owners and founders of the business could know exactly when everyone was and was not arriving for their shift without having to manually check in with people daily we need an automated solution that was seamless to use for the management and for the employees to clock in and clock out at shifts. With our rapid growth it also became a chore to keep track of things when we called people in for the weekends.

Our previous scheduling method consisted of a spreadsheet.

Now with this work schedule maker everyone checks in and checks out at the beginning and end of every shift as well as for lunch breaks so we can see down to the minute what the hours worked for our entire team was for the week and for each individual employee. Employees know that they are getting paid for every hour they work for and management knows that we are not paying for more than was actually worked.
