Humanity’s robust employee scheduling and workforce management software makes everything you do faster and more efficient. Our “Copy Schedule” feature is used to speed up the staff scheduling process, for any size scheduling challenge. Re-creating schedules can be time consuming, especially if you have complicated schedules, multiple locations or a large staff group. It is time consuming and mundane to create the same schedule over and over again. Humanity’s “Copy Schedule” feature will eliminate the hassles associated with managing and creating employee schedules and allows you to create shifts quickly and accurately. You can add employees to any schedule and keep your scheduling process running as efficiently as possible.
Copy Schedules with the ‘Schedule Copy’ Feature
Copying your schedules is easy and requires far fewer steps, and can be done in a fraction of the time that you would normally need to manually create each schedule. Firstly, go to the ‘Schedule’ tab and find the date and show the period, whether by day, week or month, that you want to copy to. To copy a schedule to that selected period, click on the ‘Action / Settings’ gear shaped icon, shown below, and click on ‘Schedule Copy’ that will appear the drop down menu.
You can select the ‘From’ date. This goes up to the day that is just before the date that you will be copying to. If you want to change the end date, click cancel and navigate to that date on the schedule and click the ‘Schedule Copy’ option again.
You can then select if you want to ‘Copy shift times only’ or ‘Copy shift times and employee assignments’ which will copy the associated employees with the shifts. To complete the copying process, click ‘Copy Shifts’.
Copy Shifts with the Schedule Wizard
The Schedule Wizard allows schedulers to automatically assign shifts to eligible employees and complete staff schedules within seconds. Select past timelines and schedules to use as a template to auto-fill with new staff assignments. To access the Schedule Wizard, click on “Schedule Wizard” on the drop down menu that appears when you click on the “Action / Settings” gear shaped icon, as shown above. You will see the following pop-up window:
Here, you can select dates for the timeline by following the same process as above. You can also select one of three wizard method options, which gives you control over the copying process. You can choose to copy the selected schedule with the staff assigned to each shift, only replacing staff when a conflict is found. Alternatively, you can also replace all staff with new assignments and obey conflict checks, or randomize staff assignments and ignore conflict checks. Finally, you are able to check the option to assign staff to open / empty shifts if there is a shortage of staff, even if it results in a schedule conflict.
The schedule that is generated it run against our conflict avoidance system to eliminate as many conflicts as possible, creating a conflict-free schedule for you.

Hotkeys are keyboard shortcuts that allow users to increase work speed. Humanity’s hotkeys help users save time in navigating the employee scheduler and switching between the various date ranges and views. We have a couple of shortcuts that allows you to copy shifts even faster.
